What security identifiers are used in the KLD Compliance data feed?
KLD uses CUSIPS for US, Canadian, and ADR securities. For non-US non-ADR securities KLD uses the Sedol associated with the security traded on the primary exchange for the company. If the Sedol is not available KLD will use ISINs or Valorens. KLD also has international CUSIPS (CINS) available for non-US non-ADR securities.
Is it possible to send the Compliance file including ticker symbols?
Yes.

Are companies with multiple concerns listed more than once?
Regarding the multiple concerns listing default, a ticker will be referenced multiple times. So there is a record for each issue (i.e. MO - has 2 records, 1 for Tobacco, and one for Alcohol).
How can I be sure any type of company security (equity or fixed income) is covered by KLD’s Compliance product?
For US companies and ADR securities KLD provides the CUSIP associated with the primary equity security. Using our standard compliance file you can restrict all equity and fixed income securities with the same first six-digit CUSIP as the equity security. The APL routine can be turned on to restrict fixed income securities.
All equity securities and most fixed-income securities will share the same first six-digits of the CUSIP. If a company changes its name the CUSIPs associated with its equity securities will change. The fixed-income securities may not. Also if a company is acquired its debt may still be publicly traded but KLD no longer tracks the company.
