The KLD Global Environment 60 Index (GE60) is a pure-play global index that identifies public companies focused on offering products and services that contribute to a more environmentally sustainable economy.  KLD Research & Analytics, in partnership with Jantzi Research, created the Index in response to growing demand from institutions and individuals for investment strategies that address the risks and opportunities associated with an increasingly resource constrained global economy.

The GE60 responds to global macroeconomic trends - including demographics, economic development, and climate change – that are widely expected to have long-lasting financial impact on capital markets. These trends, which have led to increasingly unsustainable levels of consumption and environmental degradation, are reflected in the counter measures posed by the following five environmental themes; alternative energy, clean technology, sustainable water, green building and pollution prevention. The GE60 is constructed of the 12 largest companies from each of these five themes.

The GE60 is a part of the KLD Global Environment Index series.
